The mission of ACSA is to support California's educational leaders; to ensure all children have the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel; and to champion public education.
Nearly 1,200 educational leaders belong to ACSA Region 18, which encompasses San Diego and Imperial Counties.
President's Message
Welcome to another great year with ACSA. On behalf of the entire Cabinet, I want to express our excitement for the new year as we look forward to seeing you at some of the events we have scheduled for the year.
This year, we are very excited to bring back our Region 18 Professional Development Day, as well as, many other great networking and learning events at the Region and Charter levels.
This summer, after receiving input from within and outside of the organization, our cabinet developed the following goals to direct our efforts over the next year. We are excited about these goals and look forward to working with each of you to realize the vision for Region 18. Here, then, are our goals for 2009-10:
- Continue to support and strengthen our Region Charters by offering financial incentives and a rebate program.
- Develop an action plan to increase ACSA State membership in Region 18.
- Improve communication in our Region through e-mailing and U.S. mailing the "Communicator" newsletter, maintaining the Region web site, through electronic surveys, and by making sure all members are connected with electronic mail.
- Develop and expand a student scholarship program.
- Plan a 2009-10 Region Leadership Conference or Professional Development Training.
- Continue to improve networking and mentorship opportunities for our members, both within and outside our Region.
- Value and promote equity and diversity in Region 18.
While we realize these goals are ambitious, we are committed to seeing them through and value your support and input on how best to meet the challenges we have set for our Region.
I look forward to meeting many of you at Charter and other meetings over the next year as your Region President. Please feel free to call if there is ever anything I, or anyone else on our team, can do to help you in any way.
