President's Message

Thanks for stopping by our Region 18 website!
Region 18 is a dynamic group of classified and certificated administrators from two of the geographically largest counties in California – Imperial and San Diego.

As your Region 18 President, I am proud to serve such a diverse, educated and dedicated group of professionals who all have the same goal; to provide the best possible education for the students in our counties. It is my hope that I am able to meet most of you during my term.

As we enter the 2011-2012 school year, YOUR Region 18 Cabinet has set major goals for our region that can only be attained if we all work together. They include:

  1. Continue to support and strengthen our Region Charters and membership action plan by offering financial incentives and a rebate program. Region 18 members who bring two new members into State ACSA, will receive one (1) free Leadership Summit registration fee voucher. State ACSA also gives a $25 gift card to members who recruit a new member.

  2. Continue to improve communication in our Region through emailing and U.S. mailing the "Communicator" newsletter, and maintaining the Region web site.

  3. Develop and expand a student scholarship and recognition program focusing on community service, student achievement and need.

  4. Plan a 2011-12 Region Leadership Conference or professional development training.

  5. Continue to improve social networking opportunities for our members, both within and outside our Region.

  6. Continue to promote equity and diversity in Region 18.

  7. Provide information and support for implementation of the State ACSA Mentoring.

  8. Continue to support Region 18 involvement in the ACSA Women's Leadership Network.
If you’re not sure what you can do for ACSA, please call your Charter President and offer to serve. While we are a large organization, every member is valued, and if you wish to help us attain our goals, we will find a way for you to do so. In addition, you can now discuss issues of importance, ask for advice or simply read other posts relating to Region events and workplace questions. Simply go to http://community.acsa.org/ and sign up. Then look for the Region 18-Imperial/San Diego Counties group and start posting!

Have a great year!
Jon
